Qing Pi’s unripe green color, sour flavor and fragrance suggest its affinity to the wood element - liver and gallbladder – but its channel affinities also include the Triple Burner and Stomach where it’s bitterness descends counterflow. The immediate freshness of Qing Pi essential oil in meant to free up feelings of constraint and anger; then its bitter undertones go to work breaking up stagnation. Its main intended functions are soothing the liver, relieving stagnant Qi, removing stasis, and dissolving phlegm. Like all essential oils, it is easy to use, fast acting and cost effective.
Common Uses
* To spread liver Qi and break Qi stagnation. Used for hypochondriac pain, breast distension, abdominal pain, intestinal prolapse or bulging pain disorder.
* For masses, nodules and tumors due to Qi and blood stagnation. To treat indigestion, epigastric or abdominal fullness, distention, and stifling sensation with pain that is often associated with severe food stagnation.
* Dry Dampness and transform phlegm.
* Blended with Chai Hu or Xiang Fu as a compress for clumping and pain associated with liver Qi stasis; adding E Zhu if complicated with blood stasis.
Dilution: 8%
