Su Zi Jiang Qi Tang is a classical TCM formula that directs rebellious qi downward, arrests wheezing, stops coughing, and warms and transforms phlegm-cold.

Su Zi Jiang Qi Tang, translated as Perilla Fruit Decoction for Directing Qi Downward, is a classical TCM formula from the Tai Ping Hui Min He Ji Ju Fang. It is the primary formula in TCM for patterns of Lung qi rebelling upward with phlegm-cold accumulation, often coexisting with underlying Kidney deficiency failing to anchor the Lung qi.

  • Directs rebellious Lung qi downward to relieve wheezing and dyspnea
  • Arrests wheezing associated with phlegm-cold obstructing the Lung channel
  • Stops coughing driven by rebellious and obstructed Lung qi
  • Warms and transforms phlegm-cold to remove the underlying obstruction

Contraindicated in wheezing from Lung-Kidney yin deficiency or phlegm-heat patterns. Available from KPC Herbs as 5:1 concentrated granules. Intended for use under the guidance of a licensed TCM practitioner.
