Preparations
- Dry-fried Lycium Fruit (Chao Gou Qi Zi) has a warm nature which makes it easier to digest.
- Salt-fried Lycium Fruit (Yan Chao Gou Qi Zi) enters the Kidneys, moves downward, augments Jing and is easier to digest.
- Cuscuta-fried Lycium Fruit (Tu Si Zi Chao Gou Qi Zi) is more Yang-tonifying, enabling it to replenish Jing and fortify Yang. It is used for debilitated primal Yang Qi.
Dosage
Standard range: 5 to 18g. Tincture: 2 to 4ml.
Generally, the recommended dosage for an adult is 9 grams per day, but any final decision should be made based on a trained healthcare practitioner's analysis. The dosage may be split into two or three servings per day. If taken twice a day, each serving size is 5 grams. If taken three times a day, each serving should be 3 grams. Each measuring spoon included with Treasures of the East granules holds 1.5g.
