Clinical Applications: Bai Hua She She Cao is indicated for intestinal abscess, toxic sores, ulcerations and swellings (Chuang Yung), and snakebite. It treats Lin Syndrome and Damp-Heat jaundice. Topically, it is used for vesicles and ichthyosis.
Anti-Cancer Properties: Some sources consider this herb to be in the anti-cancer category. Large doses decrease tumors. It is used for toxic accumulations in both the upper and lower body. The herb is good for Stomach and Liver cancer, acute granulocytic and lymphatic leukemia, Yoshima's sarcoma, Erlich's ascites sarcoma and uterine cancer.

Comparison: Both Bai Hua She She Cao and Hb. Scutellariae Barbatae (Ban Zhi Lian) have strong cooling and toxin relieving actions and are used in the treatment of various types of cancers, especially those of the gastrointestinal tract. Bai Hua She She Cao is bitter, sweet and stronger at unblocking Lin Syndrome, while Ban Zhi Lian is only slightly bitter and acrid to transform Stagnation and break up Blood Stasis and reduce swelling. Its effect on urination is limited to facilitating the smooth passage of urine.
