Schisandrae chinensis Fructus
Wu Wei Zi essential oil is grown and CO2 extracted in southern China from the small, red Schizandrae fruit whose Chinese name, "Five Flavor Seed", signifies that it can tonify the Yin of the five Yin organs. The best fruit is large, thick-skinned, oily, and lustrous. Its skin is sweet, its fleshy part is sour, and the seed core bitter and pungent. Wu Wei Zi has affinity to lung, kidney and heart meridians. Its aroma warms the ears, concentrates the eyes, opens the nostrils and leaves a salty and pungent taste on the tongue. It vibrates and warms the lower abdomen, quiets the heart, and may produce a gentle buzz throughout the body. And like all essential oils, it is easy to use, fast acting and cost effective.
Common Uses
* For chronic cough and wheezing due to Lung Qi deficiency. Lung and kidney deficiency patterns.
* Kidney deficiency with nocturnal emissions, spermatorrhea, vaginal discharge and urinary frequency.
* Excessive sweating, particularly when accompanied by thirst or a dry throat. Also used for spontaneous sweating, night sweats and wasting and thirsting disorder.
* Heart and spleen Qi deficiency.
* Heart & kidney blood and Yin deficiency, with irritability, palpitations, dream-disturbed sleep and insomnia.
*Combined with Bai Zi Ren Oil for palpitations, insomnia, dream disturbed sleep. For night sweats, and spontaneous sweating due to deficiency.
