Angelicae sinensis Radix
Dang Gui (aka Dong Quai) is one of the best-known Chinese herbs. Its Alchemica Botanica essential oil is CO2 extracted from the medicinal root of Angelica Sinensis, a hardy perennial that grows wild in cool and damp areas of western and northwestern China. Its sweet earthy scent moves down into the middle jiao and makes the body and mind feel soft, supple and receptive. It is intended to help nourish, invigorate, warm and harmonize the blood, making it one the most widely used and versatile herbs for treating blood deficiency, pain, dryness and cold. And like other essential oils, it is easy to use, fast acting and cost effective.
Common Uses
* For blood and Qi stagnation due to cold type menstrual disorders such as irregular menses, amenorrhea, or dysmenorrhea.
* For injuries where blood is congested, as well as for a disturbed spirit due to blood deficiency.
* Used topically for numbness or skin problems caused by blood-deficient wind.
* To relax the smooth muscle of the uterus to help reduce menstrual pain.
* For easing coughing and wheezing.
