Chai Hu Shu Gan San (Bupleurum Powder to Spread the Liver) is a classical TCM formula appearing in the Jing Yue Quan Shu (Complete Works of Jing Yue). It is a foundational formula in the category of prescriptions that course the Liver and resolve constraint. Built on a modification of Si Ni San, it adds Chuan Xiong and Xiang Fu to strengthen the formula’s ability to move qi, alleviate pain, and address Liver-Stomach disharmony patterns.
