Yin Chen Hao Tang is a classical TCM formula that clears heat, resolves dampness, and helps reduce jaundice associated with damp-heat patterns.
Yin Chen Hao Tang is a classical TCM formula from the Shang Han Lun, and is the primary TCM formula for jaundice arising from damp-heat in the Liver and Gallbladder. Named for its chief herb, Artemisia capillaris (Yin Chen Hao), it employs a strategy of clearing heat, resolving dampness, and unblocking the lower burner outward.

Chinese Symptomology: Whole-body jaundice with a color that resembles a 'fresh tangerine,' slight abdominal distention, urinary difficulty, thirst (with the ability to take only sips), little or no sweating, or sweating only from the head and stopping at the neck
Contraindications: Unless modified, contraindicated for yin-type jaundice or jaundice in which dampness predominates. Da huang should be used with extreme caution during pregnancy.
