Xiao Chai Hu Tang is a classical TCM formula that gently relieves Shao-Yang disorders and expels pathogenic factors from the exterior to reduce fever.
Xiao Chai Hu Tang, translated as Minor Bupleurum Decoction, is one of the most famous and widely prescribed classical TCM formulas from the Shang Han Lun. It is the primary formula for Shao-Yang disorders -- patterns where a pathogenic factor has lodged between the exterior and interior, and requires a harmonizing rather than releasing or draining strategy.
- Gently relieves Shao-Yang disorders by harmonizing the interior and exterior
- Expels pathogenic factors from the Shao-Yang channel
- Reduces fever through its harmonizing and exterior-releasing actions
- Restores the smooth ascent and descent of qi through the middle burner
