San Zhong Kui Jian Tang is a classical TCM formula that clears heat, resolves toxicity, reduces swelling, supports ulceration of abscesses, moves the blood, and dispels stasis.
San Zhong Kui Jian Tang, from the Lan Shi Mi Cang (Secrets of the Orchid Chamber) by Li Dongyuan, is a TCM formula originally developed to address hard nodules, swellings, and accumulations caused by phlegm-qi stagnation with toxic heat. Its multi-faceted strategy combines heat-clearing, toxin-resolving, and blood-moving actions. Elderly or debilitated patients may require simultaneous tonification support when using this formula.

Pattern: Fire rising in the body, causing the fluids to congeal into phlegm
Chinese Symptomology: Saber sores that are knotted and hard lumps, as hard as stones. These may be located on the neck or shoulders and down to the armpit, usually along the path of the hand and foot lesser yang channels or the foot yang brightness channel. Also addresses scrofula, goiter, and other neck tumors.
Contraindications: Care must be taken to protect thepatient's yi fluids and qi. Elderly and debilitated patients may require simultaneous or intermittent tonification when this formula is used.
