- Resolves toxicity and prevents putrefaction: used both internally and topically for pain and swelling in the throat, open sores in the oral cavity, and white, draining vaginal lesions (such as in severe candidiasis).*
- Resolves toxicity, reduces swellings, treats the eyes: this is a commonly-used substance in opthalmology for red, swollen, painful eyes. Can be used alone as a diluted wash for this purpose.*
- Clears heat and dissolves phlegm: taken internally for phlegm-heat obstruction with sputum that is difficult to expectorate.*
