Treats food stagnation, promotes the flow of qi.
- Reduces food stagnation and harmonizes the Stomach: for Stomach cold with food stagnation or accumulation, with symptoms such as epigastric and abdominal fullness or distention, lack of appetite, borborygmus, and diarrhea.
The medicated leaven is fried until its exterior turns scorched black and its interior remains yellow, then rapidly cooled by spraying with cool water. This process is also referred to as carbonizing the medicated leaven. Such preparation significantly enhances its ability to alleviate food stagnation and promote digestion, making it potent enough to serve as a standalone herb for these purposes.
