Jade Moon Phase 3 is a variation of the modern formula designed by Dr. Xia Gui-Cheng, Reinforce Kidney Ovulation Formula Bu Shen Cu Pai Luan. Reinforce Kidney Ovulation Formula is another variation on Angelica Peony and Rehmannia Decoction Gui Shao Di Huang Wan, with addition of Kidney Yang and Blood moving herbs. Jade Moon Phase 3 extends this formula with some substitutions and further additions. Jade Moon Phase 3 incorporates all the herbs of Angelica Peony and Rehmannia Decoction with the exception of Asiatic cornelian cherry Shan Zhu Yu, and Asian water plantain rhizome Ze Xie. The construction and therapeutic strategy of Angelica Peony and Rehmannia Decoction safeguards the Yin. We see its manifestation in the cervical secretions, which should be increasing at this point.* - Lyttleton This is s short use formula with strongly defined action albeit in many directions. Typically it is taken a couple of days before ovulation and approximately 3 days after, 5 to 7 days all together. It is ideal to start this formula at the first signs of stretchy cervical secretions. For women who have built up good amounts of Yin and produce copious fertile mucus over several days this is an easy instruction to follow. However if your patient only see fertile mucus for a day, or not at all, then we must try to gauge roughly when she is preparing to ovulate. If her cycle is regular then this is not difficult, however if her cycle and her time of ovulation is very erratic then you could ask her to use the urine LH (luteinizing hormone) indicator kit and instruct her to start using Jade Moon Phase 3 when there are signs of rising LH (this may be as the color of the test line gradually intensifies in the day or days before its color matches the control line showing the peak LH surge).
