Gan Mai Da Zao Granules, 42 packets

Gan Mai Da Zao Tang (Licorice, Wheat, and Jujube Decoction) is a simple three-herb classical formula from Zhang Zhong-Jing’s Jin Gui Yao Lue. It is the primary formula for the pattern known as zang zao (restless organ disorder), which is characterized by frequent spells of unexplained sadness, crying, or emotional agitation. The formula uses Gan Mai (wheat grain) to nourish the Heart and calm the spirit, Da Zao (jujube) to harmonize the middle burner and nourish the blood, and Zhi Gan Cao (honey-fried licorice) to moderate and harmonize the whole. Available from TCM Zone as concentrated granules in 42 individual packets.
