Bladderwrack (Fucus vesiculosus) is a mineral-rich brown seaweed that contains di-iodothyronine (DIT), a precursor to the thyroid hormone thyroxine. This extract supports thyroid function and metabolic health through its high iodine content and provides significant anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and nutrient-dense properties.

Bladderwrack Extract from Herbalist and Alchemist is a concentrated 1:4 extract of Fucus vesiculosus, a nutrient-dense brown seaweed widely used for its high iodine content, which supports thyroid function and metabolic health. Like most seaweeds, Bladderwrack is rich in minerals and trace elements, and contains di-iodothyronine (DIT), a precursor to the thyroid hormone thyroxine.

Key Medicinal Properties and Uses:

Thyroid Support: As a rich source of iodine, Bladderwrack is traditionally used to treat hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid) and goiter caused by iodine deficiency.

Anti-Inflammatory & Joint Health: Contains compounds that may help reduce inflammation, making it useful for arthritis and joint pain.

Skin Health & Healing: Topically, it is used to soothe skin irritations, promote wound healing, and improve skin elasticity due to its anti-collagenase activity.

Digestive Health & Weight Management: The seaweed contains alginic acid and fucoidan, fibers that act as a mild laxative, soothe the digestive tract, and help with weight loss by creating a feeling of fullness.

Antioxidant & Nutrient Rich: High in minerals (magnesium, calcium, potassium) and antioxidants (phlorotannins, fucoxanthin), which fight oxidative stress.

This extract is prepared from dried seaweed using certified organic alcohol and distilled water. The product is Kosher Certified by OK Kosher Certification.
