Andrographis (Chuān Xīn Lián) enters the Lung channel and has a strongly bitter and cold nature, which effectively drains excess heat and cools the Lung. When pathogenic heat accumulates in the Lungs, it impairs their descent, leading to symptoms such as cough, thick, yellow phlegm, sore throat, and fever. Chuān Xīn Lián directly clears Lung heat, helps restore the Lung's descending function, and eliminates toxins that contribute to inflammation. Its cooling effects are versatile enough to treat conditions ranging from Wind-Heat colds with sore throat to more severe Lung abscesses caused by heat toxins.
Certified organic and hand-harvested at their peak potency and processed in small batches to maintain the optimal quality of the plant.
Very bitter and cold, Andrographitis Herba (chuan xin lian) cools heat toxin in the Lungs and Stomach and thus treats symptoms such as influenza, cough, and wheezing from Lung heat, Lung abscess, sore swollen throat, and boils due to fire toxin. Its bitterness dries damp-heat in the Large and Small Intestine, and thus treats damp-heat dysenteric disorder, hot painful urinary dribbling, and eczema. Because it cools the blood, Andrographitis Herba (chuan xin lian) is used for nosebleeds. It can reduce swelling, and is applied externally as a powder for scalds, burns, and snakebite. Chuān Xīn Lián (Andrographis) is a highly effective Heat-clearing herb in traditional Chinese medicine, often referred to as the "King of Bitters" due to its intensely bitter flavor. It is commonly used to treat sore throats, fevers, respiratory infections, and digestive issues stemming from infection or inflammation. Because of its very cold properties, it is not recommended for individuals with weak or cold digestive systems and should not be used over extended periods.
