Elderberry Extract Tincture, 32oz

Elderberry is one of the most effective herbs to use for flu. Studies report the herb shortens the duration of flu symptoms, such as fever, fatigue, headache, sore throat, cough, and body aches. Elderberry has proven to be effective against numerous strains of influenza. The herbs constituents neutralize the activity of the hemagglutinin spikes found on the surface of several viruses, causing the viruses to deactivate so they are unable to infect cells. Elderberry can be used during an active flue (optimally combined with Oregano Oil or Echinacea Goldenseal), or used as a preventative to avoid getting sick during the flu season. Elderberry liquid extract is a very concentrated source of anthocyanins, purple pigments that serve as powerful antioxidants. These anthocyanins enhance immune function and protect the body against disease by boosting the production of cytokines (proteins that regulate immune response), including tumor necrosis factor-alpha and interleukins. Elderberry also contains the flavonoids quercetin and rutin, and is high in vitamins A and C. The extract can be taken on a long term basis to increase one's resistance to ilness and help rebuild a strong immune response. - vitality works herbal handbook
